I’m Lucero Marin Lee, an artist and teacher. Here is a bit about me.

  • Received an art scholarship at age 18 to cover 90% of her tuition at the University of Sonora, one of the most prestigious universities in all of northern Mexico.
  • Learned from dedicated professors whose focus is the mastery of the most basic to the most advanced in fine art.
  • Studied art history and philosophy and worked in many mediums such as sculpture, wood/metal/linoleum cuts, photography, painting, etc.
  • At age 19, participated in a professional art exhibition in the state of Sonora’s capital.
  • Taught private art lessons for 1.5 years in Hermosillo, Mexico.
  • Held her first exclusive art exhibition in Nogales, Mexico at age 20, where she sold several paintings and was thus able to pay for additional schooling.
  • Sold many of her artworks to private clients and was contracted several times to paint portraits.
  • Performed multiple art service projects while serving an LDS mission in Mexico City, including a large outdoor mural for an elementary school in Toluca, Mexico.
  • Started Utah Art Lessons in 2006.
  • Judged Lakeridge Junior High School’s annual student art show for 4 consecutive years; substituted regularly for the school’s Art Teacher Betty Lou Hunter.
  • Employed by Perfect Space (faux and art finishes) where she worked as part of a professional 3-person team, and was known by nearly everyone as “the artist.”
  • Contributed faux and art finishes to homes featured in the 2007 Utah Valley and Salt Lake Parade of Homes.
  • Organized and carried out 6 annual Summer Art Camps: one featured artist Greg Olsen; 2010’s Student Exhibit was held at Covey Center For The Arts and 2019’s at Tree Art Gallery.
  • Taught Art at Oak Canyon Junior High, Noah Webster Academy, and at Ivy Hall Academy. A larger-than-life mural entitled Warrior is showcased at Liahona Preparatory Academy.
  • Studied with Casey Childs (recipient of First Honors in 2011 International Portrait Competition)
  • Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sonora in 2011, where she was awarded the highest recognition for each of her final artworks.
  • Continues teaching art lessons year-round at a home art studio in Orem.
